On April 29, our son Anthony W. Pettiford III was born sleeping. While we grieve the loss of our beautiful son, we would like to help prevent future parents from a devastating loss.

Update #4

Anthony Wayne Pettiford and I are so grateful for all the support we’ve received over the last two weeks. They have been the hardest weeks of both our lives. We miss our sweet AJ, and we mourn the loss of all the things we hoped his future would hold.

To all who sent food, flowers, cards, gifts or made a trip to spend time with us, we truly appreciate the outpouring of love we’ve received. Also, thank you to all who donated to our campaign. Anthony and I are still figuring out our best path forward, but we hope to find a way to continue to raise funds for miscarriage/stillbirth prevention and support for families grieving a similar loss.

More Info

Anthony Wayne Pettiford III was born sleeping on April 29, 2021. He weighed 8 pounds and was 21 inches long.  As we mourn the loss of our son, and all the hopes we had for his future, we find ourselves wanting to support others grieving a loss and work to prevent losses in the future.  We started this fund to raise money to help meet these two goals and will post updates as we have them on this page.  In the meantime, if you'd like to learn more about one way to prevent miscarriage/stillbirth check out the Count the Kicks campaign.

Update #1

Due to the overwhelming support we received, we have increased our fundraising goal. We are so grateful for your support of our goal to make others grieving process a bit easier. We are also looking for ways to prevent future parents from having to suffer a loss from miscarriage and stillbirth.
