Thank you to everyone who has looked, shared and donated to this campaign. Please know that I'm coming along, and progress is slow. Heading into the 4th week of PT and I can only apply about 25% pressure to my left leg. The broken ribs are less painful and I'm able to breath much easier.

Please know that approximately 4-9% of donations come from the kindness of strangers. Please post/repost this campaign on your social media pages asking your network to help whether it's posting, donating or just sending a prayer or happy thought.

With much appreciation and gratitude... Anthony

More Info

My name is A.J. and I'm sponsoring a campaign to help my friend as he faces 4-6 months of painful physical, mental and financial healing and recovering from a devastating car accident.

Whether you know him as Anthony, Tony, or A.J., he is a man who has touched so many lives helping many overcome, heal, work through and triumph significant life challenges and struggles. His insight and support has lead many to make life changing decisions allowing for a more enjoyable and satisfying life.

Being the closest of friends for the past 20+ years, I felt compelled to start this fundraiser for him and his family to help cover the cost of mounting medical costs, legal bills and lost wages while recovering over the next 4-6 months. His parents, Tony and Lucille, have been there doing all they can to help and attend to anything that he can't physical perform for himself providing a supportive and positive healing environment.  If you could find it in your heart to donate to my friend his family's cause, I know it would be graciously appreciated.

On Wednesday June 29th, 2022 while driving out of Richmond VA along I-95, there was an object in his driving lane which he was unable to safely swerve around. As the object traveled under his car it caused the back end of the car to skid uncontrollably crossing 4 lanes of traffic until the end of a guardrail impaled the driver's left door. He was pinned and crushed in the driver's seat under the heavy weight of the steel guardrail. In pain, unable to move, he reached a white paper napkin to wave out of the sunroof signaling for help.

It was 10 minutes before someone stopped to help and 20 minutes for police and emergency services to arrive. They worked for 129 minutes to cut the roof and doors off to free him from under the heavy steel rail. Traffic on I-95 was held to clear way for a medical helicopter to land and airlift him to Virginia Commonwealth University Trauma Center in Richmond, Virginia.

Having sustained numerous lacerations, broken ribs, broken hip and broken left Femur. He  immediately underwent an IM Nail surgical procedure which entails having a metal rod secured by several pins to the broken left femur.

On July 4th he was released into the care of his loving family who drove from New York to be by his side. They returned to his families home in Westchester County, NY where he is being cared for by a team of doctors, physical therapists, family and friends.

Mobility is difficult and painful as he relies on a walker and crutches. He experiences little comfort from the multiple broken bones while the constant pain deprives him from sleeping for more than one hour intervals.

With a great deal of hard work and determination it will be 4-6 months for him to heal and learn to walk again. In the month since the accident and two weeks in Physical Therapy he is trying to stay positive despite the escalating medical costs, legal fees and inablity to work and earn a salary at his much loved self-run business.

My friend is a proud man and rarely if ever asks for help while always being there for others. So please help meet our $25,000 goal providing some relief to his financial stress and enabling him to meet day to day expenses until he can return to running the small business he loves and helps so many in need.

I am grateful for all donations and gifts so please give what u can and are comfortable with. Whether you are able to donate or not, you can help by posting and forwarding this campaign to your social networks asking.  other's compassion and donations to help in this time of need. All your prayers are a very welcome blessing as well.

Thank you for your support
