Ending hunger will require a continued commitment from individuals, communities, and government to support our neighbours.
The City of Toronto Children’s Charter declares that all Toronto children shall be entitled to adequate nutrition on a consistent basis. Despite this commitment, many children and families in Toronto do not have adequate or nutritious foods.
Access to adequate and nutritious foods is important for children’s physical and mental health and development. Hungry children get sick more often, and can be impaired in their physical growth and development. Children who come to school hungry often have trouble learning, and have lower academic achievement. They may also experience social and behavioural problems. Hunger affects every aspect of a child’s life.
No one in our community should go hungry. This is unacceptable. Access to food is a basic human right.
Help me feed those in our community by supporting an organization that was founded on the need for some of our least served demographics.
THANK YOU TO THOSE THAT HAVE ALREADY SUPPORTED! Because of you, we will be able to serve more families and individuals and provide a sense of community for them.
