Every year when I partake in the grueling event that’s known as the Bataan Memorial Death March I try to raise awareness for non profit organizations. Organizations that are meaningful and typically veteran based as this is where my passion derives from. On 15 March 2020, I’ll be participating in my 5th Bataan Memorial Death March. I’ll be raising awareness and donating the profits made to Open Canopy Foundation and Home of the Brave Museum located in Honolulu, Hawaii.
A short summary of OCF and the reasoning behind it being so important to me is because for those that are unaware, there has been an uproar of veteran suicides. OCF enables paratroopers to get back on their feet to be successful products to society and to enforce that they aren’t alone.
The Home of the Brave Museum is focused on our WWII brothers and sisters. It’s currently in danger of being shut down. They are apart of a non profit organization called Remember the Fallen. Because of the fact that restoring our history is incredibly important, if nothing is done to help this museum, it will be shut down in the very near future.
I ask you in the kindness of your own heart to help. I understand if you’re in a financial dilemma and aren’t able to donate, but I’d truly appreciate if you could pass on the word. Once Bataan is complete, I will donate half of the proceeds to OCF and half to HoB Museum and will show the evidence of the donations. Nothing will go to me, but everything to these two organizations.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this and am incredibly thankful to you for raising awareness on these two noble causes.
