Hi everyone! Those of you that know me well, know that medical missions are important to me. Mindo is particularly special to me, because we do a medical mission based at an orphanage/school that I visited as high school student. That trip influenced me to become a doctor, and influenced the way I live my life. This very special place is a paradox - amongst the sadness, loneliness, sickness, and despair, there is even more love, faith, joy, generosity and hope. This hope partly comes from the bond that the Miami community has formed with Mindo. One girl in particular needs our help right now. Please read about her in the link below, and spread the word. This is an amazing opportunity to help save the life of one person who really does not have any other chance. Please, give a little or a lot, or just repost the link on your page. Thanks guys! Annette
Vanessa has a condition called Tetralogy of Fallot. Usually, surgery is done on babies who go on to adulthood and live, active, healthy lives. Without surgery, death usually occurs by the time the person reaches age 20. Vanessa is now 17 and at a critical junction where surgery can still be done before it is too late and irreversible changes occur. We have collaborated with Joe DiMaggio Hospital who reviewed her case and believe that she has a great prognosis if done now. Please help up raise funds to transport her to Florida and have this life-saving procedure done as soon as possible as she can barely walk anymore, turning blue with minimal activity.
Thank you so much for your help and support.
