It doesn't get any better than seeing these smiles!

Annapolis "Shop With A Cop" is a cherished annual event supported by The Annapolis Optimist Club. Watching the children interact with members of our law enforcement community in a positive setting goes a long way to foster respect and understanding.

Here is how the day unfolds....

On the morning of December 4th, 2021, a uniformed first responder  picks up  a child from his/her home in a marked patrol car or fire engine. Together, they drive to the Arundel Mills Walmart in Hanover, Maryland for the first leg of their adventure. The Annapolis Optimist Club provides each child with a  gift card to shop for loved ones.  After the stop at Walmart, the officer and child head to Outback Steakhouse in Annapolis for more fun and adventure.  With the help of volunteers, the children get to wrap their newly purchased gifts and write cards.   We end the day with lunch provided by the Outback Steakhouse, a group photo and goodbyes (the hardest part).  It is really touching to see such a generous outpouring of support for needy children and the selfless involvement of our law enforcement community.  This year we hope to help 30 children have a magical holiday experience!!

Thank you in advance for helping The Annapolis Optimist Club bring joy to a group of very special children during the holidays.  Your gift -- no matter how large or small -- can make a huge difference in a child's life.
