For 15 years now, we (the Rodgers family) have hosted a Christmas Gathering to benefit children and families undergoing treatment at A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children’s Oncology Unit. This gathering brings neighbors together for much needed catching up, all while building on an event that will provide support all year long for these families along this terrifying journey. Our wonderful neighbors bring along a gift for a sick child. Our generous local merchants donate goods and services that are raffled off. This raffle provides the funds we utilize to assist our families at A.i. Throughout the year. Many of you know the reason behind this labor of love, but for those of you who may not, below is a short history.
In past years we have raised over $10,000.00 in total with most year yielding an average of $1,000.00. This would not be possible without the support and efforts of so many. Last year the need was greater than any other year to date, so with the help of our amazing neighbors and the greater community we hope to raise $2,500 in 2016. Together, we can make a tremendous impact on the lives of these children and families in the battle of their lives.
