“FAVELA SEM FOME” project, to serve some of the favelas in the north and south of São Paulo by delivering basic food baskets to vulnerable families during such a difficult period.
There are already more than 1,450,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil, accounting for more than 57,000 deaths by June 2020.
São Paulo is the state most affected by the pandemic, and the poor communities on the outskirts of the north and south of the state are leading the ranking of neighborhoods with the highest number of deaths from the coronavirus.
Slum families and these poor communities live in scarce conditions and now face unemployment or the impossibility of continuing with informal jobs due to quarantine. They do not have the resources to guarantee rent, food, and hygiene during this pandemic.
And we can’t just watch, New School created the “FAVELA SEM FOME” project, to serve some of the favelas in the north and south of São Paulo by delivering basic food baskets to vulnerable families.
Your generosity is what allows us to help these families. A small donation will make a big difference.
Get out of the stands and jump on the court, help us to sustain the life, safety, and dreams of these communities during such a difficult period.
