Loveland is committed to making its downtown area a social, cultural, and family friendly destination. The Loveland Downtown Partnership Business Alliance contributes to this commitment in a variety of ways, from sponsoring special events to providing business owners with networking and learning opportunities.

During a 2017 Business Alliance meeting a concern was raised about the lack of lighting in downtown alleys that makes them difficult to navigate at night, and for some downtown visitors a questionable safety risk. The city responded quickly with an inspection of alley lighting downtown, and has begun to address its infrastructure in positive ways, but there are still ways that individual business owners can enhance the lighting that is already in place. It was noted that the expense of such lighting and installation was a hindrance for some of the businesses.

Alliance member Franklin Taggart suggested that a special event be presented in order to both raise community awareness, and to begin to establish a fund to cover these costs. In March of 2018 the first Alley Lights Event was held and over $4700 was raised.  The funds raised are now being implemented to install lighting in the DaVinci Alley running North and South from 4th to 3rd Streets between Cleveland and Railroad, and extending over the Cleveland Ave.

A fundraising campaign this year will continue the efforts and expand the program into other alleys.

This year our generous Sponsors have already donated $7600 getting us over halfway to our goal of $10,000 total with the Associated Veterans of Loveland Contributing $5000.    In addition, First National Bank has stepped up and will be donating a great Alley Lights t-shirt, designed by a local artist for anyone who donates a minimum of $40 to the campaign.Donors will be able to pick-up their t-shirt and say cheers to new lights in the alley when we flip the switch on Friday, March 29th at 5:30 pm in the Da Vinci Alley.

** In order to receive your t-shirt,  please do not give anonymously, and please contact us at apowell@lovelandpartnership.org with your giving username used on the site,  and your t-shirt size.
