Alexa's Road to Recovery

Alexa's Road to Recovery

From Julia Bennett

Help us raise money for Alexa's medical expenses and road to recovery. Alexa’s family faces insurmountable medical expenses, including hopefully rehabilitation from her brain injury at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta.

Update #3

Thank you to everyone who has supported and prayed for Alexa.

She is currently in the ICU at St. Petersburg. She has had several setbacks and is fighting each day as doctors try to figure out how they can help her. There is a suspected infection which, if confirmed, would lead her to being transferred to Emory (if they will accept her).

Please continue to pray for Alexa.

Update #2

Alexa remains stable at the LTAC (Long term acute care) facility in South Florida. There has been a standstill on her improvement until she can be better assessed by a gallbladder specialist, who is not able to help until late January. In the meantime, she continues her fight while family attempts to get Alexa accepted into a facility in Georgia. The transport for this will cost well over $4000 alone. It is anticipated that she will remain hospitalized for months to come.

Update #1

Alexa is in a progressive critical care unit and has some setbacks with her progress. After some procedures and times she seems to be back to healing. Alexa has a team of 7 different doctors who are taking great care of her. She is able to talk to family but gets very tired easily. We continue to pray for her healing as we have to patiently wait to see what her body will allow the doctors to do. Thank you again to everyone who as supported her along the way.
