Clean water for drinking and medical treatment is an enormous issue as casualties continue to increase in Turkey and Syria after February 6th's horrific earthquake.

I am an American social worker who moved to Alanya, Turkey in October 2022, and being that I have committed to uphold the NASW Code of Ethics, I volunteered to help the Anatolia Alanya Hosptial and City of Alanya Social Services.  Since last week we have been organizing material donations such as diapers, clothes, personal hygiene products and infant care items all week.

I have now volunteered to drive hospital physicians, personnel and water to the disaster area because they will be relieving the first responders from last week.  I will not be going directly to the site, but to meeting locations to where the volunteers and personnel are staying and where materials are being stored.

Our first trip to to Adiyaman, Turkey, will begin this week to provide transportation and to deliver water filter kits.  My responsibilites also will pertain to the distribution of purchased Platypus GravityWorks Water Filter Systems, 5 gallon water bottles, and to ensure that safety is maintained for my volunteer colleagues.

The Giving Level is only a suggestion, and represents the cost of one Platypus Water Filter.  A 5 gallon bottle of water costs 18 Lira ( $1)  The Campaign date with this fund is scheduled to end on March 12, 2023, but we will continue to work, fundraise and adjust dates as this disaster relief support effort continues.

All collected donations will be given to the Anatolia Alanya Hospital Materials Department to purchase the water filter kits and gallon bottles.  Please be advised that FUNDLY required that we use a US Zip code to create this fundraiser, which is why you will see that the campaign location is in Atlanta, GA, my registered US address, but we are in currently working in Alanya, Turkey.  FUNDLY will also collect 4.9% platform fee and a small portion of funds will be used for gas and the vehicles.

I will provide updates and receipts of the donations to the hospital as this fundraiser continues.  We all sincerely thank you for your support and prayers sent to the victims and their families.
