My name is Akshat Nema, and I am currently a junior at Westview High School. This winter break, from December 18th to January 2nd, I will be staying in Odisha to assist in rural development at the village of Deuladiha.

Events that our group will be participating include but are not limited to: construction of toilets, building of compost pits, informing villagers about hygiene when cooking, and assisting villagers with career goals. This village is in a very remote area (106 miles from Bhubaneswar and 233 miles from Ranchi). Consequently, the resources in this village are drastically limited.
Fortunately, I have been given the opportunity to raise money for solar-powered lanterns for the community in the village. Every donation you make will go towards lighting up the village, and is tax-deductible.
