We are raising funds to expand our program and move into a larger space with 2 beautiful classrooms and a yard. We could use the help of our community! The future is in our stars-please take a moment to read below...
Creating our own systems of education is essential for our survival as a people. What an honor it is to have our beautiful and profoundly gifted young watotos in our sovereign and ever evolving Saving Our Babies Inc family. Saving Our Babies is our non profit organization established in 2015. We function as an arts and cultural center with educational initiative programs. Therefore we are an independent yet community based institution and The Watoto Freeschool (2-5 yrs) and Akoko Nan Homeschool Collective (5-7 yrs) are two of our programs. We began in 2014 teaching 2 babies in our 1br apartment-on the red living room rug:) We have been in our 270 sq ft business suite classroom for 2 years, now the children are outgrowing the space. We have gone from 2 children to 10 in 2 years. I would love to get them into a beautiful 800 sq ft space with 2 huge classrooms and a yard. We could really use the support of our village. Our program offers our children an amazing curriculum of our story, geography, Afrikan proverbial & character development, Afrikan bi-lingual studies, that include Yoruba, Kiswahili & Twi, chess lab, science, English language arts (reading and writing comprehension), mathematics, & meditation, critical thinking, field trips and much more. With this new space, upgraded curriculum and materials we will continue to provide an educational initiative that will solidify the survival and prosperity of our next and newest generation. The purpose of our program is to shape the future of a nation. We thank you for all of your time, love and energy. We graciously welcome you to us in this experience and thank you for your support in helping to shape the future which is in our stars-the children! Peace and power!
