Last year, we were able to donate over $6,500 and 500lbs of food to Operation Food Search, and with your help, we hope to beat that this year!
The AEPi Sigma chapter and the Pi Beta Phi MO Beta chapter at Washington University in St. Louis are excited to partner for the fifth consecutive year for this spring’s ThurtenE Carnival, which will take place from April 17th to April 19th. Each year, we are challenged to construct a 12’ x 28’ x 28’ facade and develop a theatrical production based on our chosen theme. All elements of the production and construction of the facade are completed by our members. We are excited to continue our partnership as well as the tradition of entertainment and philanthropy, which has benefited the St. Louis community in the past.
ThurtenE is the oldest and largest student-run carnival in the United States, and AEPi and Pi Phi are proud to be a part of it! Each year, Greek organizations pair together to construct façades and put on plays for the St. Louis community. The carnival will take place between April 17-19th, so mark it down on your calendar so you can come check it out!
This year, we have chosen Operation Food Search as our primary beneficiary, with plans to support them with both donations and volunteer work in the upcoming months. Established in 1981 to tackle the widespread problem of hunger in St. Louis, Operation Food Search is a local area food bank that distributes food free of charge to the poor and hungry.
Operation Food Search is a local food bank that distributes food and other necessitates to those in need in the St. Louis area. With every donated dollar, Operation Food Search is able to turn it into $22 worth of food for the hungry of the St. Louis area (that's up to 9 meals!!).
Our goal in sending this email is to raise money for both the construction of the facade as well as donations for Operation Food Search. We are aspiring to raise $20,000, which we know we can achieve with your help. Donations of any size are incredibly helpful and will go a long way to attain our ultimate goal of aiding the St. Louis community and participating in another successful ThurtenE Carnival.
We have created a website in order to simplify the donation process. Below we have provided a link to our online donations page. Contributions can be made on the website via credit card or PayPal.
