UPDATE: Tenacity is looking more like a cat every day and less like a messy ball of fur! There was one small seizure last week and there is still some soft stool. Unfortunately she is not purring anymore though it seems she is trying and is very content resting in Dr. Novak's office during the day. We believe this was caused by all the medications given by mouth that she did not exactly cooperate with receiving. We have changed the route of her daily medications in hopes that those noisy purrs return.
Again, we thank each and everyone for keeping her in your prayers.

More Info

We have some sad news to report, after three months have gone by Tenacity started having a series of seizures. Dr. Novak has been controlling them with medication. It is thought that the seizures may be due to the inoperable piece of bone that remains lodged in the center of her brain. We would really appreciate everyone to keep her in your prayers.

Update on Tenacity

On January 16th, Tenacity's surgery went very well! After they removed a lot of the debris from her crushed skull, she has a hole in her head about the size of a nickel. They have stitched her up, but there is no bone to protect her brain. They are trying to come up with a helmet for her to wear during her playtime, so if anyone has ideas, throw them at me!
She continues to improve and has not had a seizure since Friday night, but is still not out of the woods. LaZoetry Vet Clinic is controlling an ongoing fever and continued drainage from the surgery site. She has Bacterial Meningitis of the brain and is on an antibiotic to help get rid of that. It will be approximately 6 months before it is completely gone.
Tenacity is very comfortable at Dr. Novak’s home and has grown to love her housemate and cuddle buddy, Ellie Mae, the resident bulldog. She gets lots of love and attention from everyone at the vet clinic and has grown extremely attached to Dr. Novak. Although Tenacity’s vision is impaired, she knows when Dr. Novak is near; when she hears Dr. Novak’s voice, she lets out a hearty meow and begins to talk up a storm.
Tenacity will continue to receive treatment at the clinic and will soon be having her follow up appointment at CSU. As we have more information, I will post updates.
We have continued to receive amazing support from all of you, making her road to recovery possible. Keep the positive thoughts and prayers coming her way!
