"It [art] fires my mind and calms me by viewing and creating." | Help Sam turn his hobby into a career that could change his life for the better.
In May 2014, we launched our “Adopt a Homeless Artist” program in an effort to help our homeless artists generate income through making artwork. The program is not only intended to help individuals rise from poverty but to help them develop professional skills as well.
With the help of your donations, our homeless artist, Sam will receive art supplies and the opportunity to exhibit his artwork. All donors will receive access to Sam's online portfolio. Top donors will receive original artwork from him and/or tickets to the annual gala where they will have the opportunity to meet Sam if he is available that day.
Those who donate $50+ will receive a half-priced gala ticket!
Those who donate $100+ will receive a free gala ticket and one piece of original artwork!
Sam is a 53-year-old Gallatin, TN native who has lived in Nashville for seven years. His favorite types of art include acrylic painting, wood sculpture and clay.
Why Sam Likes Art: “I got interested in art at an early age. I know a ton of art that has moved me in a spiritual sense. It fires my mind and calms me by viewing and creating."
