A van for Marshall and Sam

From Stacy Young Taylor

We are raising money toward the purchase of a wheelchair accessible van for our family. Sam uses a wheelchair for all mobility and he is getting too big to lift in and out of the car. Marshall also often needs extra help

A van for Marshall and Sam...

We are raising money toward the purchase of a wheelchair accessible van for our family. We have done an extensive search for the make and model of van that will work for our family of 6. Considering that Sam uses a wheelchair all of the time, while Marshall is sometimes independent, sometimes uses a walker, and sometimes uses a wheelchair, we need something with size and flexibility. We need a full-size van.  A full size van costs approximately $45,000 new (used is between $25K and $30K), while the conversion (wheelchair lift, seating modifications, etc) costs about $20,000. We are exploring all options, including: buying used, seeking funding from charitable organizations, holding a fundraiser at our home, and begging our friends and family.

That's where you come in, friend (or family).

Additionally, in recognition of the support they provide to all families affected by Mitochondrial Disease, 10% of all money raised will be donated to the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (umdf.org).
