Stephanie was on her way to meet with her husband (Brian) to start back to school shopping for her children (Laila and Elijah).  She was involved in a head on collision on August 10th, 2018 at 6:04pm with a driver that was FaceTiming on his phone distracted and to avoid hitting another driver in front of him, crossed the center-line heading northbound on GreenBay Rd in Waukegan, IL

With the extent of their injuries Laila (8) and Elijah (6) were both airlifted to two separate hospitals and their mother was sent to a different hospital than the two children.

The extent of Laila's injuries were a muscle tear in her back that was leaking into her stomach which required surgery 3 days later which required her to have 4" of her intestine removed. She is still currently recovering from her injuries in the hospital.

The extent of Elijah injuries were life threatening and severe.  Elijah had to have a endotracheal intubation (for him to breathe from August 10th-August 12th), a 5cm laceration on his forehead along with a orbital fracture on his left eye which was swollen shut. He also has a minor hip fracture that requires usage of a walker to currently move around with.

Unfortunately after a two day battle where she fought for her life every second, her injuries (a fatal 4th degree laceration to her liver) from the head on collision she was called home by God. Leaving behind two beautiful and strong children.  A loving and caring husband.  Amazing family and friends that all miss her dearly with each minute that passes.

Our family have already had numerous emails, texts and messages from people asking how to help, so this campaign has been created as a way to keep everyone up-to-date with plans, and also offer a place for messages and donations to be left

If you would like to donate, just click on the donate button and donate whatever you can. If you are not able to donate don’t forget you can still leave messages and comments for myself, Laila and Elijah to read as we are dealing with these current hard times.
