Dear friends, 6 years ago together we raised almost $3500 for an artificial leg for a high school girl in the Philippines named Junevieve. Now she is finishing college and her leg needs a new knee joint. Will you help?
We've reached 25% of our goal to get Junevieve a new knee replacement for her artificial leg. Won't you chip in? Your $1.00 donation or share will help get us there!
When when all of the donors on this site first raised money to get Junevieve a new leg in 2013 we saw some remarkable changes in her. She was smiling again, getting to be and feel like a teenager again, and once again able to excel in school.
Now Junevieve is just getting her start in the world at the end of college, but having trouble moving because the knee joint of her leg is wearing out. She doesn't have the funds to fix her mobility challenge, so this gesture of kindness from you all will really help make a difference in her life!
Funds will be transferred to my dearest friends at Rise Above – Cebu where they'll be able to take Junevieve to get her knee replaced. When it happens I'll be sure to send videos or photos of her progress and gratitude for our gift!
Be well and happy 2020!
Junevieve did not have an infection. She had aggressive bone cancer above her knee, and the only way to save her life was to amputate her leg. She got cancer at 13 and amputated at 15. She didn't want to amputate and waited as long as possible, but then was convinced by the doctor to save her life.
She is in her final year of college, but has not yet graduated.
