Each year we receive several rabbits who need expensive medical care, along with our normal spays, neuters, tooth trims, and parasite treatments. Help us provide them quality care!
Medical Bunnies Update!
Geordi is doing great! No more medical issues for him! Yay!
Thor: He had his first specialist visit, which determined he needs one incisor tooth removed and his right eye removed. Once this is all done, he should feel a ton better and be ready for adoption! Unfortunately these procedures are estimated to run approximately $2,000, so we are in desperate need to fundraise for him.
Roscoe: It was discovered he had a large mass in his abdomen. It was removed, but he passed away due to complications from the surgery. His medical bill was just over $900.
Phoenix: He had eye ulcers suddenly come up and require treatment. He is still undergoing this treatment and we suspect there may be an underlying cause we need to investigate.
These medical bills come on top of our regular spays and neuters. Your donations are very much appreciated and needed! Thank you for everyone who has donated!
Update #2 (Geordi pictured)
A week in to Thor's treatment and he's doing a little better! His eyes are healing, but we still have another week of medication before we go in for surgery to work on some of his more major issues. We are SO thankful for Dr. Benham at Animal Doctors West Des Moines for giving him great care.
ALSO Geordi, our blind bunny has his neuter today and is thriving in his foster home!
ALSO Bucky, our bunny with mobility issues stemming from his back and back legs is going to his Foster-to-adopt home in a few days!
We are so thankful for everyone's support!
We have updates on our three special needs bunnies!
Bucky, the bunny with arthritic hips is thriving on daily pain meds and joint supplements! He is heading to a foster-to-adopt home next weekend!!!
Geordi, the blind bunny, is thriving in his foster home and has proved to be the absolute sweetest bunny! His biggest hurdle right now is NOT jumping up on things, just to get stuck and not know how to get down! haha!
Octopus (we are still figuring out a name for him) did well his first night with us and is showing us he is a fighter! He is on five medications three times a day. We are so excited to see his progress!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
