A well-loved shop goes viral, but not the way we want.

A well-loved shop goes viral, but not the way we want.

From Christine Busch-Lyons

We’re raising funds for our unique little shop in our wonderful town on the delightful Olympic Peninsula. We’ve had many challenges in 17 years, but the Corona virus has hit us really hard.

Help.us give back. For every $25 gift certificate we sell we will donate another $25 gift certificate to our first responders here. We recently sent some to Jefferson Healthcare and Medical center. These gift certificates don’t expire!

More Info

This campaign is so personal! As artists we have created this little gem of a store, and in the process made many friends. Our shop is the home of the new, the unusual, the old and the interesting in home and personal accessories. We truly stock everything from the sublime to the ridiculous, to the delight of our customers.

Update #8

Wow, it’s been about a month since we started our Fundly campaign to help keep our shop, Summer House Design alive into the future. Many of you have helped us out and we couldn’t be more thankful. Now it looks like we have to be closed at least until May. Things like rent and utilities are looming. We would be so happy if you could help us raise some more funds for our absolutely one of a kind shop! Glassware pictured is handblown by shop co owner, Glenn Lyons

Update #7

They say “necessity is the mother of invention “. We have created 2 “ Catalog Windows”. All one has to do is look through the window and all of the items are named and priced. If you see something you’d like there’s a sign with our phone number and email. Just get in touch and we will either deliver or ship! Tada!

Update #6

It is so strange to check in on the shop and have it quiet and dim. It’s usually full of laughter and light with an occasional gasp at finding something never seen before. We are really working at staying afloat using our wits and ingenuity. Please consider a donation to our campaign so we can keep going. Thank you!

Update #5

Living with a boatload of gratitude to the generous people who have donated to our fund raiser! We've just learned that we will have to close for the time being as a non essential business. We would appreciate any donations at this time, small, medium or large. We don't want to have to close our business down and this is one way we have found to help keep it going after the mayhem is over. Painting by shop co owner Cris Busch

Update #3

Due to calls for social distancing for people over 60, we have had to cut our open hours to Sunday, Monday and 1/2 of Tuesday. These are the hours our employee, Lesley can work. She is fully aware of social distancing and of sanitation measures. We’re grateful to her and care very much about her well being. Please consider shopping with us on these days, we’re even providing gloves to wear while you shop. Please consider donating to our campaign, we would love to remain a vital part of our downtown community when things improve.

Update #2

So many shops are closing indefinitely downtown. We're trying to decide, certainly don't want to jeopardize anybody's health! Very scary! Please consider donating to our campaign. Thanks!
