After the horrible tragedy at the Boston Marathon, I wanted to find a way to help. After seeing a tweet from the NBC Sports Network about marathon runners finishing the race and running directly to the hosptial to donate blood, I knew what we could do.
On 4/28, a small group of us are running in the La Jolla Half-Marathon. We will be running in Boston sports gear and black ribbons in support of the victims and families involved. We will be grabbing lunch after the race and then heading over to donate blood to the American Red Cross.
I will also match the dollar amount that we receive in donations (Up to $100, I'm not rich here) in hope of hitting our $250 mark.
All donations will go to support the recently formed One Fund Boston (http://onefundboston.org/)
Can’t donate? Please share. Even a quick share on Facebook can help.
The average share raises $97.
