I am starting this page only for those who wish to donate to my business as a love offering. When Covid-19 struck and I offered FREE sessions, people still wanted to give back, every little bit is appreciated. xoxoxox

All about why I do what I do.......

Eight Arms Photography·Wednesday, March 25, 2020·
When I was much younger and just starting out as a photographer pricing was my biggest problem....I never knew what to charge....nothing felt right. I juggled multiple price packages and nothing ever seemed to jive well with my soul.... You see I didn’t get into this business to make money or to get rich...that is a dream, and honestly it was never my dream. I got into this business not to be like all those other big name photographers who think they can over charge and make a ton and live in a new York city.... That was never my thinking....my thoughts were to create memories for those who could never afford that big name photographer but still deserved GREAT images and memories. So I started low and barely made anything but I was ok with that....then as the years went on I started going up on my prices thinking that my experience was worth something...(which it is 100%) but....I wasn’t happy with myself ...I lost a lot of my return customers and had fewer bookings. Fast forward to the events of today....the dreaded pandemic...COVID-19...it has and continues to ruin lives. Seniors for example are missing out on their senior year end activities due to no more school....social distancing...businesses shutting down...parents loosing jobs...stay home quarantines....no food ...no toilet paper....etc,etc,etc. So as I lay in bed the other night I realized that I have strayed once again from my countless reasons for becoming a photographer.... I got into this business to help, to give back, to make sure that people of all walks of life get the memories they deserve, but at what cost? What would be fair to me, to my customers, to my business....all while making my kids proud, keeping my calendar filled, and still actually loving what I do instead of loving the money that was coming in...??? Then it all made sense. Like a 2x4 upside the head it hit me.....don’t charge a penny! Do what you love to do and do it for FREE. And here is why....when I was working and charging my highest rates (because 15+ yrs experience I felt I should be able to charge more) I got to the point where I was doing it for the money not the clients...I was doing my job but it was just that....a job. The passion I once had was gone....my drive to create and all the things I used to love....GONE. So when the virus hit and everything came crashing down all over the world my outlook was redirected back to why I started this crazy journey. I am still charging for weddings but my rate was reduced and all my current brides were informed of the lower rates. All shoots are now free of charge. And NO there is no catch. NO strings or fine print. Once I am done editing you get a link and you can either order prints from me (not required) or you can just simply download the files and use them where you want. I just ask that you respect the quality and time it took to photograph and edit them and steer clear of Walmart and walgreens….the machines will mess up the files!!! I thank you all so much for your continued support over the years!! You don’t realize that every time I click my shutter on my camera and I am making memories for you that I am giving you a part of me. You are family at that moment to me. And I cherish each and every single one of you.

Edit: Many have been asking to still pay or give something....and this is totally up to you...like tipping your waitress I guess... I set up a page where you can go to donate if you so choose....see link below. But let me stress that I am not expecting or asking you to donate....it is totally up to you.

Update #1

I changed the goal amount because this link was created so that people can tip or donate to the cause... I don't have an actual "goal" ….
