While the Pill is by far the most used and popular contraception amongst women, it is also the most at risk of forgetting to be utilised. Especially when you are someone that has a pretty packed day already, you are probably most likely to forget to take this little pill that has the potential of changing your entire life as you know it. Luckily, there are quite a few hacks to help you remember to take the Pill, and here are our favourites:
1. Reminder Apps
The first and probably most obvious one is to get a pill reminder app, this is what Click Pharmacy Recommends. Whether you are an Android or Apple user, there are a ton of amazingly helpful reminder apps out there. Not only do these apps remind you to take your pill but they also give you information about your period cycle and sometimes even offer lifestyle related articles for women.
2. Integrate into daily routine
The next hack might take a little longer to get used to but incorporating your pill into your daily routine as a set part of your day to day tasks might be the most sustainable hack. It is no secret that having a proper structure throughout your day does wonders for your productivity. So why not just make taking your pill a habit and make it one more thing that you can check of your to-do list? Every morning when you wake up or at lunch time with food, whatever works in your lifestyle.
3. Keep in sight
Another great tip is to place your pill somewhere where you can’t possibly miss it. Try putting the pill next to your makeup or your toothbrush. It will be almost impossible to forget to take it when it’s right in front of your eyes!
4. Post it notes
For those of you that are quite comfortable with sexuality and it being obvious to others, here’s a hack for you. Leave little reminders in form of post it notes around your house in places where you can’t miss them. Mirrors, doors and your fridge are great places to place reminders, since those are probably, spots you look at several times a day.
5. Alarm clock
This one is similar to the pill app hack but great for those that have too many pictures and videos on their phone, and never have enough storage space to download an app. Set an alarm, it’s simple as that. Most phones let you add a little note to each alarm, so in case you have several alarms set during the day, for whatever reason, you’ll be able to tell that this alarm is a pill reminder.
Our next hack might be a little extra and time-consuming, but I can guarantee you it’s worth the trouble. Take out your calendar or your organsiser, grab a pen in a great flashy colour, and write a reminder on the top of every page. That way it will be almost impossible to forget to take your pill. Just don’t lose your planner!
7. Wallpaper Photo
This last hack works amazingly if you’re like the most of us and you’re on your phone for a majority of the day. Take a picture of your pill box and set it as your phone background. You’ll be reminded of your pill anytime you check your phone! Try to make sure that your phone is charged though and won’t just turn off during the middle of the day.
