The Charity Gala is a significant source towards the Breakfast and Snack program, which is a full-inclusive, open door policy program that provides funds for meal and equipment accessible to hundreds of children.
As Firefighters, we respond to a variety of different emergencies; fires, car accidents or medical distress. However, there is one emergency that needs everyone’s attention and that is the unfortunate reality of some children who go to school with no breakfast or lunch.
In 2013, the Coquitlam Firefighters decided to respond to this growing emergency by starting the Breakfast and Snack Program. Since then, we have been able to provide funds for meals and equipment to schools from our community and there is a tremendous need to reach more.
The key to the program is its fully inclusive, open door policy, meaning every child within the school is allowed to access the program. This not only prevents a feeling of segregation but also promotes a tremendous sense of community for these children.
The main source of funding to the Snack and Breakfast program is our annual Charity Gala Ball. This year, the Gala will take place on September 28th at the Riverside Community Church in Port Coquitlam.
We created this campaign to help cover various gala expenses. You can help by making a donation of any amount, starting from CAD$ 5.00.
Once we accomplish our goal of raising $5,000.00, we will draw a pair of tickets to our 6th Caribbean Gala that will take place on September, 28 at Riverside Community Church in Port Coquitlam, BC. Everyone who donates will have a chance to win so don't miss out on the opportunity to contribute to a great cause and celebrate it with us on an evening of great food, music, dancing, and live entertainment.
We are very appreciative of the support you can provide and know that together we can accomplish greatness. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
