One of our local firefighters will do a 26.2 mile hose drag on Saturday, April 22,2023 to help raise funds for Connection Church of God Youth Group. Funds raised will go toward the remodel of their youth center.

Mike Simek, a local firefighter from station # 20 in Pine Ridge, will begin the hose drag in Dunnellon utilizing the Withlacoochee Trail. He will walk the trail dragging a 50ft. 3 inch fire hose in full bunker gear weighing over 80 lbs to the fairgrounds in Inverness, make a u turn, and end his drag at Connection Church of God (416 Hwy 41 South). This drag will take between 9 and 11 hours to complete. There will be a big , exciting, celebration at the finish line at Connection Church of God. Thank you for your support.
