Raise money to offset added expenses to our budget. In order to continuing running this event we need this extra cash to pay expenses for the event and the venue.

The Long Island Scottish Festival and Highland Games is having our 60TH Anniversary at Old Westbury Gardens this year. We have brought a We bit of Scotland to the community for a long time and the public have enjoyed, Pipe Bands, Highland Games where strong kilted men and women throw around cabers ( telephone poles) sacks of hay, stone throws, Highland Dancing, top rate entertainment, Scottish vendors selling Scottish food, tee shirts, Celtic gift and wearing apparel. and so much more.

The town of Old Westbury has introduced a new law stating that all tents must have a permit which is to be purchased for $500.00 to $2000 depending on the tent size. Our venue, Old Westbury Gardens hosts the Festival for the day and gets 60% of the take at the gate.

These expenses leave us usually enough profit so we can produce the next years Festival,  but with the added permit fees from the village of Old Westbury,  up to $15,00.00,  we can no longer afford to produce the Festival. So as of now we are going to have more fund raising to try and get enough fund to produce the 2020 Festival and we have turned to "Fundly" to help us out. Also our labor expenses have risen dramatically and in order to keep up with that expense we wish to have buffer in our budget so we can plan for the years to come.

We are a 501(C)3 corporation and give any surplus profit to registered charities. The corporation would like to continue giving to our charities but with the added expenses we will have to be very careful this year. Please help us out so we can continue producing the Long Island Scottish Festival and Highland Games into the future.
