The purpose of this page is simple. I want to help. I need to help.
As I watched from afar, the tragic events unfolded at Sandy Hook School in Newtown, CT. I felt helpless. I have family and friends that were touched directly by this tragedy. Thankfully none of them suffered physical injury, but the emotional toll for them and their community seems unbearable.
With your support, this is how I plan to help. I will be running in the New Orleans Rock and Roll Marathon on Sunday, February 24th. The run is 26 miles long and I will be running it in honor of the 26 victims at Sandy Hook School. In preparation for the marathon, I will be running 26 training runs between January 1st and race day. Each training run will be dedicated to a particular victim of this tragic event. On race day, I plan to have a way of visibly honoring the victims.
Please help support my efforts by donating. All proceeds will be donated to the Sandy Hook School Support Fund, which was set up by the Newtown School Board and is being administered by the United Way of Western Connecticut.
My goal is to raise $2,600.00, but obviously there is no reason that cannot be exceeded.
Thanks for your support and please keep the victims and survivors of this tragedy in your thoughts and prayers.
