Good Afternoon All,
I wanted to reach out and give everyone an update since Hurricane Zeta paid us a visit. We are finding ourselves re-doing most of our assistance tickets that where already worked! The POD in Lake Charles is still seeing about 3,000 people in need come through the distribution line. We are greatful that United Way has taken point there and is helping United Cajun Navy.
We are struggling with transportation of supplies and food. Right now donations are going towards getting cold food and supplies out to Leesville, Lake Charles, Hackberry, and several other parishes in SW Louisiana. We are working to get a generator brought in to the La Quinta Hotel in New Orleans as well to help people that have been staying there since Hurricane Laura.
Any donations coming in would be greatly appreciated and would be used immediately to help! ALSO! We are looking at getting Turkeys donated for Thanksgiving. We would like to provide several hundred families with a meal in a box featuring a small frozen turkey, dry can food, and bread. If you can help donate a turkey let us know by sending an email to email@example.com
Good Afternoon Everyone! Update coming your way! As we are still working for Hurricane Laura and Sally, It appears we have one more large storm for the 2020 Season. Who can agree with us that 2020 needs to be over!!!
United Cajun Navy is going to announce this evening our deployment and schedule for Hurricane Delta. We are currently collecting: Water, Gasoline, Life Vests, and Medical Supplies.
If you need sand bags please fill out an assistance request via our website: www.UnitedCajunNavy.org
We are proud to say that United Cajun Navy is now moving into the long term recovery phase for most of the areas in SW Louisiana. Power has come back to about 90% of the state. Most of the affected area is still under a boil water advisory. Areas of focus for us right now is providing bottled water, cleaning supplies, toddler and baby needs, medical needs and personal care supplies.
We are also operating in Baldwin County in Alabama as well as Pensacola, FL providing hot meals and thanks to Bimbo Bread, as much bread and rolls as the people need until they have power restored. Lowes was kind enough to give us a spot close to the store to be able to control all the people coming up to us. We have a supply POD located at Flor-Bama right on the coast as well.
I know its hard to believe that 2020 is starting to end down.. finally.. We are preparing to provide some boxes of Thanksgiving meal supplies ( 1 Frozen Turkey, 1 Box Stuffing, 2 Cans Yams, 1 Bag Rice, etc) Our goal is to give away 3000 meals this year in Louisiana, Texas, Florida, Alabama, North Carolina and Tennessee due to the tornados! All donations received in October will help fund this event! Also If you live near a 'The Lost Cajun' restaurant please go check them out and have a bowl of Gumbo! The entire chain nationwide is helping us support this great Turkey operation by donating 1.00 per bowl of gumbo sold!
In Short! Please help us prepare for Thanksgiving! Or go grab a bowl of gumbo from The Lost Cajun. They have several locations in the United States!
Cajun Navy gives first look at damage to Alabama's Orange Beach
The United Cajun Navy has boots on the ground in Orange Beach and is surveying the damage so far from the Category 2 storm.
The nonprofit organization, dedicated to providing relief efforts and equipping rescue teams to areas affected by natural disasters, posted a video on Facebook that shows storm surge and heavy flooding on streets as well as an overturned boat on the side of the road next to a refrigerator.
United Cajun Navy - Relief efforts are still ongoing in the Lake Charles and Hackberry area. However we have a new concern at this time, Hurricane Sally. We are seeking ongoing donations and/or if anyone in the immediate area has tents to help cover supplies and provide shelter to those whom already lost their home with Hurricane Laura, please reach out to us!

United Cajun Navy is actively working relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Laura. We are focusing mainly in Louisiana but we do have volunteers in southern texas as well. We are about to head into a head wave this week with over 8700 people in hotels and several others on the ground desperate for ice, water and food. We are doing out best to help! We have a POD in Lake Charles at Lowes and another in Baton Rogue. We are also working closely with the town of Hackberry to make sure residents there and in Cameron and getting supplies.
We are responding to the Easter Sunday tornado destruction (at last count - 34 tornadoes total) in Mississippi. Please help support our response in supporting our neighbors in Mississippi. We will be posting updates as we get them from our teams on the ground. This, from what we can tell, was an natural disaster of destructive proportions.
