We did it thanks to you! We reached out goal with 34 days left to go!
We are seeking to raise memberships to $100,000 this year in order to cover rising costs of running a film festival including more hotels, more meals, more shuttles, more insurance, more staff. Your membership, even of $5, makes a difference to people coming to Oxford, people working in Oxford, people making films in Oxford.
The Oxford Film Festival, which has moved to March, is taking place in Oxford, Mississippi, March 18-22, 2020. The 17th edition of the popular regional film festival again features OFF’s short screenplay competition with a $1,000 cash prize, a $15,000 prize for a short film of any genre, as well as all juried competition winners will receive cash and in kind prizes along with their awards. The student category deadline is November 15 and all other genres are December 31.
The consistently Top 50 Film Fest Worth the Entry Fee according to MovieMaker Magazine and Top 100 Reviewed Festival on Film Freeway, Oxford FF will screen films in all genres, and focuses on “discoveries” through its film selections via submissions, as well as celebrating short screenplay writers and promoting and celebrating indie filmmakers culminating in the presentation of the film festival’s award ceremony.
With the growth of the LGBTQIA+ category, in addition to the continuation of the discounted submission fees for female filmmakers demonstrates the real, tangible support for artists of all genders, lifestyles, and cultures that the Oxford Film Festival represents in the South. The film festival has made a name for itself nationally in that regard for the impact it is making with filmmakers, film artists, and the local community, by embracing its place artistically, politically, and socially in Oxford and the state of Mississippi.
The Oxford Film Festival has established itself as a leader and prominent “voice” in the regional film festival community as it continues to take real, and lasting, action in order to offer an oasis of culture, a position of advocacy and support on behalf of minorities, women, and the LGBTQ community, as it supports diverse voices in the state of Mississippi.

We hit our first $10K in fundraising so we are launching our new female filmmaker retreat!! We are sharing with you, our supporters, first!
How does your gift help? Here is how:
We are increasing by $15,000 from previous year's sponsorships and memberships for two reasons. #1 - To help fund a year round part time job for a new employee and #2 We are raising $10,000 to make it free for female directors to attend the newly launched female filmmaker retreat for 3 days pre-fest and to stick around for the actual fest. We want to pay for their stay here including meals as well as their mentors. This is an important step forward in our vision to create more educational opportunities, support for filmmakers and support for female filmmakers.
Wanted to share with you all that we are a Top 50 Film fest Worth the Entry Fee at MovieMaker this year!
