As we start our campaign this year for the scholarship fund, I'll start with a reminder and update. Tuyizere Maurice (pictured here) was our first scholarship recipient. He just successfully finished his first year studying Law at the University of Rwanda. He's even still working as a volunteer librarian!

Thanks to those of your who have already donated. Help us reach our goal of $5000 before the end of August!

More Info

After working and living in southern Rwanda for two years, we saw a serious need missing for our students to succeed—something we in the U.S. usually take for granted: a school library! Growing up, we always saw books as a source of inspiration and a place to spark curiosity. For our young students in Rwanda hoping to be doctors and lawyers and change agents for their developing communities, we knew they needed these sparks to succeed. That was the idea behind the E.S. Mamba Library Scholarship Fund.

The combination of a well-working library and higher-level education is the one-two punch students need to succeed and change their country for the better. We learned from our time there that Rwanda is an incredible, vibrant country full of young people ready to push it forward. We hope you'll want to be a part of that push as well.
