Update #7

A big, big Thank You! to Rickard Hansson, CEO of Weavy, for supporting our program. Rickard just turned 42 and has committed to getting his PSA test this month.

This is a picture of a couple I met in Kansas City after our interview on FOX4.

We are meeting lots of men and talking about the need to test and personally track their PSA results. Thanks, everyone for your support!

More Info

Help End Prostate Cancer. . .

I am a 15 year prostate cancer survivor and I'm here today only because of a conversation with my best friend John who told me about the PSA blood test for prostate cancer detection. That conversation and blood test saved my life.

15 years later, still, in 2018, more than 230,000 men will learn they have prostate cancer and over 23,000 men die from the disease. The reality is we can prevent many of these deaths through early detection and proper treatment.

I call myself the 'accidental cancer survivor' because my casual conversation with John led to my PSA blood test and the discovery of my prostate cancer at a treatable Stage 2. My goal is that every man diagnosed with prostate cancer will find it early when it treatable.

One in every six men will have prostate cancer. . .

One in 6 men will have prostate cancer during their life and 43% of all prostate cancers occur in men younger than 65. Finding  their prostate cancer early is critical to survival.

Men can find their prostate cancer early. . .

To help that happen, our team created the ProstateTrackerApp available free to everyone on the Internet. ProstateTracker is an easy to use early detection system that uses the simple, inexpensive PSA blood test. Men just need to know about it.

Surviving prostate cancer takes finding the right treatment. . .

There are many different variants of prostate cancer and survival means finding the right treatment. A new company, Driver,XYZ, is offering a unique program that assembles medical records and connects survivors with the most current treatment trials in partnership with the National Cancer Institute.

Where your donation will go. . .

The funds we generate during the 2018 Tour de USA for prostate cancer will go directly to supporting the continued operation of ProstateTrackerApp and to helping prostate cancer survivors access the Driver.xyz programs.

Thank you for reading about our program and I hope you will join the 2018 Tour de USA team and make a donation.

You can connect with us on the Internet at Cancer Journeys Foundation.

Update #6

I head for my first stop in St. George, Utah next Sunday. Day 1 of 23. We have a TV morning show segment scheduled with FOX4 in Kansas City to talk about prostate cancer and free ProstateTracker early detection service. I'll be driving for 124 hours over the 23 days and I would like to get 6 donors each of those hours - because one in six men will have prostate cancer. Thanks for your support and please share our challenge with your network. And don't forget to follow me and the #378 car on our Instagram account - CancerJourneys. Allez!

Update #5

A big "Thank You" to Kent Leipold, the CJF's Texas Ambassador, for getting the Governor of Texas to officially proclaim September as Prostate Cancer Awareness Month in Texas.

Beating prostate cancer just takes finding it early with a simple PSA blood test and www.prostatetracker.org.

In September, make a commitment to talk to six of the men in your network about testing for prostate cancer. One of them will have prostate cancer. #JustGet6

Please share this fundraising campaign with your friends. We got a ways to go!

Update #4

Prostate cancer is a silent killer because it doesn't show any symptoms until it is advanced. But we can beat it by encouraging men to take that annual PSA test and track the results in our free app at www.ProstateTracker.org. A huge "Thank You" to Kaitlyn Conway and her family in Boston for carrying the message!

Update #3

Just 17 days until I leave Los Angeles on a 23-day prostate cancer awareness tour of the western US. I'm doing it in my #Mazda #Miata and space is limited. I'm working on my 'must carry' list. One thing that does is my SPOT GPS tracker so my wife knows I'm OK and my supporters can follow me on the Internet @ http://bit.ly/TourdeUSA2018.

Update #2

Just 25 days until my Miata and I head out talking to men about prostate cancer and raising funds to support men in need. This is my personal car that I have wrapped for maximum cancer awareness. You can follow my progress in real time at http://bit.ly/TourdeUSA2018. Time to get that oil change before we head out for our 4, 259 mile jaunt.

Update #1

Thanks to our lead donors who have moved past the 10% level. We doing a dual world record attempt - the longest charity road rally and the most donors. You can help us reach that goal with a simple $5.00 donation and help prostate cancer survivors at the same time. Has your family been touched by prostate cancer? Join us in helping America's 2.6 million prostate cancer survivors. Thanks!
