Donations to the Philadelphia Writers' Conference will supplement existing conference funds and help ensure that we can continue to bring an exemplary conference back to Philadelphia each year.
For nearly 70 years, The Philadelphia Writers' Conference has brought together writers of all creeds, styles, and genres to adhere to the edicts of inspiration and community established by our founders in 1949. We have brought speakers and workshop leaders such as Sonia Sanchez, Jonathan Maberry, Larry Kane, Mark Bowden and dozens of others to share their knowledge and experience with our conferees. And we have kept our commitment to making this experience accessible, by keeping costs low, offering discounts and scholarships to students and writers groups and seniors, and generally working to make sure the tuition for our three-day conference remained affordable.
As the longest continuously-running, open registration writers conference in the United States; the PWC is an important cultural institution in Philadelphia. Just like Philly's amazing parks and museums, it takes the support of people like you to help keep our programs running.
Do you know someone who writes or works in the business of writing and publishing? Perhaps you are a writer yourself, who has attended the conference in the past and been helped in your career. Maybe you are a brand new writer, just starting out, and looking forward to the things the Philadelphia Writers' Conference can offer. Or maybe you're not a writer at all, but just someone who wants to help ensure the arts community around Philadelphia continues to thrive.
Your donation will help ensure that we can continue to bring in top-line talent to teach and speak and inspire, and that we can fairly compensate that talent for their invaluable time. It will help us continue to provide free resources and materials and (perhaps most importantly) coffee to our conferees. Your donation will allow us to keep our tuition manageable for most conferees, and allow us to continue to offer scholarships to students, writers' groups, seniors, and those in need. In short, your donation will help ensure that we can continue to return to Philadelphia each June, to bring together the writers' community for "instruction, counsel, fellowship, and the exchange of ideas," a task as vital now as it was when the conference was founded nearly seventy years ago.
We hope you can help!
