Caitlin made the 2010 Olympic Team and in turn helped Brian make the 2014 Olympic Team. This year it is Caitlin's time to shine and she has been named to the 2015 World Championship Team to compete in Falun, Sweeden.
Today's World Championshp Bronze medal would not have been possible without all of your incredible support. Thank you so much. I am so happy for the wonderful team we have behind us!
Wow, what a year 2014 was thanks to the support of our incredible sponsors and community through fundly we were able to support our best season ever. I (Brian) made the 2014 Olympic Team as the only member to have never been a part of the National Team. Caitlin had an incredible year winning the 20km US National Championships by an unheard of 3:36 seconds. She narrowly missed being named to her second Olympic Team but went on to win her 3rd American Birkebeiner Title and the 2014 Overall Super Tour, while simultaneously competing on the World Cup circuit. Caitlin has earned start rights for the Period 1 World Cups and will start the season off in Finland. This is the first time that she has been able to target a World Cup race ahead of time since 2010, where she finished 14th in the Canmore World Cup 10 km. The goal is to start the season strong and earn an entry in to the Tour De Ski. The next goal is the 2015 World Championships and to have both Brian and Caitlin competing.
Caitlin has earned the Continental Cup start rights for the period 1 World Cups. Even better the start rights include funding from FIS which includes a travel stipend of 750 swiss francs, Room and Board for about 4 days each week. We are responsible for the other three days of the week @$125+/day. Plus a $75/race start waxing fee.
We plan to start the season ready and will be preparing with an on snow camp at Frozen Thunder in October and Caitlin will join the US Ski Team as a guest for a 9 day training camp in Munio, Finland.
Frozen Thunder: $2500
Munio Pre-World Cup Camp: $1300
World Cup: $1200
World Championships/Tour De Ski/Europa Racing: $5000
The first two months of racing will determine qualification for Tour de Ski, World Championships and OPA Cup races.
Neither of us are, or have ever been members of the National Team (yet!) and so Team Gregg is responsible for our own costs. We cover these costs through prize money, sponsorships, our work with In The Area and the Boys and Girls Club, and through community giving through fundly. Follow us on Facebook and you know that we race alot. Last year we competed in 81 races.
Caitlin just skied to Bronze in today's 10k World Championships race. This is a HUGE historical best for US Distance skiing as USA took two of the steps of the podium.
Gold - Charlotte Kalla (SWE)
Silver - Jessie Diggins (USA)
Bronze - Caitlin Gregg (USA)
Thank you so much for all your support of Brian and Caitlin. It's been a whirlwind adventure and lots of hard work to make this happen and your donations are very much appreciated.
While Caitlin's been in Sweden all week Brian was racing the American Birkie here in the USA. He skied to 8th place (2nd American) in Saturday's 50k marathon. Then on Sunday hoped on a plane for the 4000+ mile journey to Falun where he arrived Monday afternoon to help test skis and prep with Caitlin for her focus event the 10K World Championship Freestyle .

Caitlin is going to the 2015 World Champiohships! Thank you so much for your support to get us to this point. We are in Colorado right now for an altitude training camp as she prepares for the 10km Freestyle on Febuary 24th!
