“I won’t give up and stop until every child has a quality education and the option to further their education if they desire to”; these words were often spoken by Ray as an advocate. He had a determined spirit up until his last breath to fight for the future of children and youth. This is why we continue the fight. He may have taken flight to a higher realm but we still fight and are determined to make it happen.
If you have not yet given a donation to support the Alpha Cohort of Scholars that will help us to win the fight that he fought daily, there’s still time to give. No amount is too small, just give so that we can keep this fight going. https://fundly.com/1st-annual-scholarship-cohort-celebration You may also give on Cash App $rayofhopememorial

More Info

The W. Ray W. Douglas, Jr. Ray of Hope Memorial Fund was established to honor the memory of a man of integrity, a man of honor, a man who persevered through many challenges known and unknown. On May 19, 2021, Rev. W. Ray W. Douglas, Jr, departed this earth leaving his beloved and devoted wife, Dr. Nicole A. Johnson-Douglas and 2 amazingly gifted young children, Rayah and Rayghan Douglas. He also left a large assignment of continuing his legacy of education, leadership, servanthood, and spiritual formation.

After reviewing the applications and submissions for the Inaugural Cohort of W. Ray W. Douglas, Jr. Ray of Hope Scholars, we are pleased to announce that we have selected 4 young people as part of this historic and premier group of scholars that will continue the legacy of Rev. W. Ray W. Douglas, Jr. Each of their stories and journey thus far exhibit the qualities of this man that we will forever cherish in our hearts and serves as an example for Rayah and Rayghan

Each scholar will receive a scholarship in the amount of $2500 or $2000 for the 2022-23 School Year ($1250 or $1000 per semester) that is renewable without additional application for the 2023-24 School Year as well. In addition, as a W. Ray W. Douglas, Jr. Ray of Hope Scholar, each scholar will receive the following:

·      Welcome to College Package

·      Care Packages at least 4 times an Academic Year

·      Access to 4 years of Personal/Professional Coaching

·      A Mentor

·      At least 4 Leadership Development Opportunities

·      And More!

Join us as we celebrate these young people on Sunday, August 7 or you can financially support this endeavor so that we can continue to support our scholars.
