Saving Grace

Please help support Grace's rehabilitation, recovery and medical treatment.

Grace is a 5 year old Pit Bull stray that the Heigl Foundation rescued from the Baldwin Park shelter after staff contacted us, desperate to ensure that she would not be left to die alone after a life of suffering.

Grace is in a very poor state of health after years of neglect and abuse. Her teeth have been filed down, her ears hand cropped and her emaciated body is covered in scrapes and scars. She is at least 20lbs under weight and is suffering from diabetes which has been left uncontrolled. This means that there could be irreversible damage to her eyes, kidneys, pancreas and liver.

She is currently receiving round the clock treatment from veterinary experts and staff at the Top Dog Resort in San Fernando, CA to try to help her gain weight and regulate her diabetes.

Although she has experienced great cruelty at the hands of humans, Grace is still an incredibly affectionate and good natured dog. Her love is truly unconditional. We are all hoping that she will respond well to treatment.

Your Donation

100% of your donation will go towards paying for Grace's care and medical treatment. Any additional contributions over and above the costs will be used to fund adoption, rescue and transport programs focused on the saving the lives of companion animals. It will also benefit spay/neuter, education and training policies that help reduce the number of unwanted litters abandonded to shelters and subsequent euthanization.

About The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation

The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation was founded in 2008, by Nancy and Katherine Heigl. The Heigl's desire to end cruelty and abuse inspired them to create an organization dedicated to animal welfare that would celebrate the compassion, kindness and memory of a beloved son and brother. On September 23rd 1986, Jason was killed in a tragic car accident. He was 15 years old. Throughout his brief lifetime Jason loved all animals, especially dogs, cats and monkeys and he lived his life extending compassion and kindness to all creatures great and small. The Foundation is his legacy.

The goal of the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation is to eliminate the needless suffering inflicted on animals by human cruelty, indifference and ignorance. To find out more about our work, programs and the animals we help please visit our web site at jasonheiglfoundation.org.
