Help the Savannah Riverkeeper take a trash heap along the riverbank and turn it into a recreational site for all of Augusta to enjoy.

OCTOBER 3rd THIS PROPERTY WILL BE SOLD THROUGH SEALED BID!!

Before the clean water act, before the consolidated Augusta Governement, and long before the watchfull eyes of the Riverkeeper, the buisness of shredding cars on the Riverbank was tolerated in downtown Augusta.  The reminants of these days, and the contamination that goes along with them, line the riverbanks many feet deep. This is a forgoten land, a contaminated land, and land the City of Augusta now has up for sale!

For over 6 years now, the Savannah Riverkeeper has had a dream of converting this 14 acre dump into a recreational paradise for all citizens to enjoy. No where in Augusta can people really engage with the river, gone are the sandy beaches that once lined her shores, and the days when cooling your feet by the water while fishing are all but long gone. BUT THEY DON'T HAVE TO BE!! Help us purchase and continue the clean up effort, and the days of active river recreation can come back again!

In 6 years we have removed over 200 tons of trash and debris from the site.

As a non-profit we are uniquly suited to oversee the clean-up, as our status allows us to write federal clean up grants. Million of dollars in restoration are needed.

Our vision for the land:

Kayaking launch with 3 designated water trails

Sandy beach for relaxation

Designated River Side Fishing Spots

River Education Center

Disc Golf Course

and more..

Help us make our dream, Augusta's Dream, a reality! Please help spread the word and donate today!!
