Why We Are Fundraising

"Hurricane Sandy killed my dream of getting to the NYC marathon. So, I'm running my own marathon to raise money for NYC hurricane relief."

About

*NEWS FLASH* - Apparently the marathon has been cancelled in NYC.  However, MY marathon is going on as planned!  So please, read on.....

My dream of running the NYC marathon this Sunday has been crushed by the effects of Hurricane Sandy - my flight to NY was cancelled with no other flights available until after the marathon.

I'm devastated for many reasons, but I decided to do something about it.

I am running 26.2 miles this Sunday - in Issaquah WA.  I am going to run FOR New York, and try to collect donations towards relief efforts for the city.  Please consider donating.  Your donation will go directly to the American Red Cross for Sandy relief.  Please feel free to email me with questions about donations, or about joining me in running.  Sabina.webb@gmail.com

Well, this is it! We did it! With your donations, plus the matching funds on the donations from my MFST colleagues and my hours of work on this campaign, the amount we raised is close to $4000 to help our peeps in NY and NJ, who still desperately need it. Thanks for the donations and the moral support, and I'll see you next year at the NYC Marathon IN New York City!

Ok, we're in the home stretch.....one more day before the campaign is over, and the funds go to help the people who are still suffering the aftereffects of Sandy. Thanks again to those of you who donated and/or spread the word.
