About Me

As you probably know, education is a cause that is close to my heart. I co-founded IDEA because I believe that all young people deserve a high quality education. That means learning to think for themselves, discovering their passions, and exploring the cool opportunities in their neighborhoods -- not memorizing test-taking strategies and regurgitating answers.   Our goal is to raise $62,227 by January 31 (toward our ultimate goal of $150K), and we're more than halfway there. I'm personally committed to raising $2,500. Will you help me reach it by making a personally meaningful donation? IDEA is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure that all young people can engage meaningfully with their education and gain the tools to build a just, democratic, and sustainable world. IDEA collaborates with communities around the country to reclaim and reinvent education, in ways that develop compassionate citizens and changemakers.  IDEA helps transform education by showcasing what works in education and equipping others to learn from it. We advance democratic education: learning that equips every human being to participate fully in a healthy democracy.

About the Snowball Challenge to 150K

After 18 months, IDEA is having real impact in schools and communities from North Carolina to Oregon, Puerto Rico to New York. To maintain and grow this impact, we need to raise $150,000 by January 31st. We're calling this campaign "The Snowball Challenge to 150K" because our work has begun to snowball and needs your donation to increase its momentum. Pledging to give even $3.00 a month for a year will speed us toward our goal!
