My name is Kevin Crossman and I spend most of my spare time training for and competing in tower races across the country. I get a lot of satisfaction out of competing not only due to the thrill of competition but because these events raise thousands of dollars for many great charitable organizations every year.  Through my experience in these events I have seen the positive impact that athletics can play in the lives of people at all ability levels and backgrounds.   Taking this experience to heart I have decided to put my daily life on hold for three months while I embark on an inline skating journey across the United States with a great team of athletes to raise money and awareness for the Special Olympics. Over the course of about 4,000 miles the Live Give Skate Team will attempt to break several world records and I have set a personal goal raising $10,000 for the Special Olympics. The length of the journey is difficult for me to comprehend but I know that we have a team in place to make crossing the country on inline skates a reality.   Even if we are able to cross the country and break a few world records the Live Give Skate project will not be a success unless we are able to meet our goal of raising funds and awareness for the Special Olympics. Although I am fit and ready I am behind on my fund raising goal and once I hit the road at the end of April there will be less time to focus on fundraising efforts. The Special Olympics provides an opportunity that means so much to the lives of disabled athletes everywhere. Please help me support these incredible athletes and be a voice for our journey.
