About the Heart Home Campaign

Why the Expansion?

In 1962, Sigma Sigma Sigma leadership said, "...the time has come for the Sorority to have a home of its own. Not just anywhere though there are welcoming Sigmas in ever state, but a home where our roots are deepest, where most of our beloved traditions began, where our hearts turn each Founders Day, to Virigina- where Tri Sigma was born." In the spring of 1965 we opened the doors of the Mabel Lee Walton National Memorial Headquarters in Woodstock, VA. It immediately became Tri Sigma's home and continues to be today.

As we draw nearer on the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Walton House, new plans are underway to expand our Executive Offices and transform Walton House into a true memorial home for our archives and heritage.

We invite you to participate in the Heart Home Campaign.  This one-time campaign is designed to offer our members and chapters an opportunity to be involved in this exciting expansion project. Although many changes are happening at Walton House, it will forever remain our “heart home!"

Next door to Walton House will be Tri Sigma's expanded Executive Offices. The two properties will be connected by the Founders Garden, a beautiful walkway honoring our eight founders.

This nearly 7,000 square foot building will function as the central hub of operations for Tri Sigma member services. It will also be home to the Tri Sigma Foundation offices. The property will include:

  • A reception room to welcome visitors and members.
  • A modern-day board room where Executive Council and other Board members can meet.
  • A 900 square foot office for the Tri Sigma Foundation, the fundraising arm of the Sorority.
  • A beautiful Founders Garden to honor our eight founders and provide a welcoming gathering space for sisters to enjoy each other's company.
  • A 1,000 square foot education center with a smart board, wall mounted TV and LCD projector to help facilitate the education and training of our collegiate and alumnae members.
  • Staff amenties such as a break room and conference area.
  • Expanded mail and distribution area to allow for the efficient flow of communication from Tri Sigma leaders to the membership.

Walton House Additions

  • More of Tri Sigma's prestigous heritage, including archives and memorabilia will be displayed for visitors to enjoy.
  • The addition of a Heritage Room will document Tri Sigma's proud history and offer visitors a place to persue our history.
  • The famous chapter doll collection will be expanded and prominently displayed to reflect Tri Sigmas growth.
  • The kitchen, third floor sleeping quarters, and general appearance of the facility will be updated
