A Heartbreaking End to a Beautiful Life

As some of you may know, our beloved mother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend, Cristan Weber, was tragically taken from us. The sudden end of her story is sorrowful; so different than the light, happiness, and fun she infused in the lives around her.

Cristan was remembered by many at her funeral as loving, talented, beautiful and so much fun. Many of her nieces and nephews reminisced about her eye for beauty. She always loved looking her best. "You never know who you might run into," she would say with a big smile.

Her voice showcased a rare talent. Her father, Larry, spoke fondly of her musical ability. "She could harmonize with anyone," he said at the funeral. As she had directed earlier in life, her graveside service was full of music, coupled with fond memories and lots of laughter.

Cristan's passing was sudden; she was assaulted on the streets of SLC, which left her with a brain bleed that could not be corrected by emergency surgery. She walked into the E.R. complaining of a severe headache. After a desperate but ineffective procedure, she was brain-dead, before any family had time to get to the hospital to say good-bye. Cristan's murder investigation is ongoing.

Though her passing was tragic and abrupt, it still managed to bring hope and goodness to others; she was an organ donor. Her last act on earth was to give everything to other people, exactly as she would have in life.

We have set up this fund to help offset both her hospital and funeral expenses. Due to a lack of life insurance, these costs have left a tremendous financial burden on her family. We are asking that, in lieu of flowers or tokens of condolences, donations be made to help lighten that burden.

We truly appreciate your support at this time.

Memoirs of Cristan (by Mindy Mortensen)

"She was very dear to many of us and I enjoyed singing with her and listening to her beautiful smooth alto voice.  She had lots of little quips that kept us chuckling... my favorite was 'Chin up, Chest out, butt perky!'  We love you Cristan and will miss you until we meet again."

She's my sister

The world is missing out on some great talent...My dear sister Cristan was tragically taken from us.  I miss her great laugh and Cristan isums.  She could get a crowded room going or find the one in the room that was all alone and make sure they didn't feel alone for a loooong time.  Rest now my sister.

As Cristan would say "Have a straight up SUPER day...because you can".
