Dear Loyal Friend, I have not given up on my fight for fiscally responsible state government. Now that the Governor is no longer on the road campaigning for President Obama, he is looking at tax expenditures. Do you know what a tax expenditure is? No, it is not spending of tax dollars. Democrats call a failure to collect taxes on a service or an item a tax expenditure. For example, they think not taxing necessities such as food and clothing a tax expenditure. In their way of thinking they are expending because they are not collecting those funds. With tax revenue down this year due to our economy heading south, the State House is looking to end some loopholes which really means tax increases. Just because I did not win last week, doesn’t mean I am giving up the fight. Raising taxes again would further hurt our economy. However, I still have the challenge of ending the 2012 campaign with no debt. It’s too much for me and Peri to do alone this year. Even though I hate to ask, I must.
