About Me

My boss, Josh Biber, just celebrated his 30th birthday and is getting married in June. In order to recognize his impact on TFA and Greater Boston, we seek to raise $5,000 to sponsor a teacher in his honor - as a bonus, when we reach $5,000 it will be matched by an anonymous national donor!

The Time is Now

Josh has an incredible 30 days ahead of him.  His 30th birthday is today (May 9th) and in 30 days (June 9th) he will marry the lovely Ms. Merry Boak.  Join us in celebrating not only Josh's birthday, but also his upcoming nuptuals by raising $5,000 for Josh to sponsor an incoming 2012 corps member.

Because Josh and Merry, both having been fierce Recruitment Directors, love nothing more than bringing more incredible teachers to our movement, we are launching a campaign in their honor to Sponsor an Incoming Corps Member! For everyone who contributes to this campaign, we will be adding your name and comments to a framed sign that we will hang in Josh’s office.  We will share this with Josh and Merry on their wedding day!

Joshua Biber, Executive Director

Josh Biber joined Teach For America as a 2004 Phoenix corps member, when he led his fifth graders to two years of reading growth and more than 80 percent mastery of math content each year. Josh was a national semi-finalist for the Sue Lehmann Excellence in Teaching Award and later served as recruitment director for Teach For America at Brown and Harvard. In 2008, Josh took on the challenge of establishing the Massachusetts region – first, as director of new site development, then as founding executive director. Josh graduated with honors from Brown University and earned a Master’s degree in Education from Arizona State University.
