To the friends of Barry E. Tubbs, Sr.
I believe this letter finds you prospering and in good health!
This year at Brother Copeland’s annual Minister’s Conference the Lord prompted me to do something special for my father. On his way to the first morning of the conference his car had issues, wound up on the side of the road, and Sergio, who with dad, helped him get the car home. After this happened, it really bothered me and within myself I heard the Lord say “…then do something about it!”. I knew then that I had to take action. I wanted him to be able to go to a car every day that he knew could take him across the country if he was so inclined. In all these years, I’ve never known dad to buy a new car. He’s always made sure my mother has been taken care of first.
When all this came up in me, I knew his birthday was coming and then remembered it was his 75 birthday. I’m sending this letter because I believe that at some point in time my father has been a blessing in your life. We know he is a selfless man who loves to serve and is a man of honor. In July he will begin his 36 year serving Bro. Copeland as his associate minister. Beyond this, I can’t number the times that people have told me how much he has helped them or freely given wisdom for decisions, big and small. He is the friend that sticks closer than a brother. When I think of faithfulness, I think of him. As my sister and I recall our lives we remember his love for us and I know there those among you that call him “Dad” and count him your Spiritual Father. What a legacy and honor!
So, to the point! I’m inviting all who would like to sow, into what will be an epic birthday gift. My goal is to have more than enough money to buy him a brand-new car that he would only dream of driving every day. One that would remind him of the LOVE of God and his friends every time the engine roars. At the end of March, close to his birthday, I’ll take him to “test drive” a Jaguar of his choosing and then when he thinks we’re leaving I’ll tell the salesman, “We’ll take it!”
Obviously, he’ll have no idea! This has to be kept in the utmost confidence because if he knew this was happening he would tell me to cut it off. Then following the purchase, we are going to have a huge party to celebrate the man from Marked Tree, AR. The entire experience will be filmed so that everyone who has sown can enjoy seeing the look on his face when he gets his first new car. The details of the party will come in a separate email. We have also set up an account for you to write a note to dad that will be assembled in a presentation box and given to him at the party. So, everyone can share words of thanksgiving for a wonderful life.

I must stress the secrecy of this, so we trust that you will keep it close to the vest. Feel free to share with anyone you believe dad may have blessed but stress the importance of it being a surprise. We also want everyone to know that there is absolutely no pressure to give! I am confident in the Lord’s provision.
